I AM BLESSED
I am blessed.
A short time ago I stood with the congregation of Neighborhood Alliance Church, Longwood Florida, as we lifted our voices in song. As we were singing I thought of how blessed I am! I have the privilege of worshiping with a loving group of people who, for the most part don't even seem to think much about the fact that I am blind. I am blessed to be an active member of the congregation: I have filled the pulpit; I have taught; I have served on committees, and so on. I am blessed to be a person, not a project.
While I am blessed, I am also saddened by the knowledge that, as a person with a disability I am one of the very few who have been blessed in this way. Most people with disabilities, if they find a church where they are welcomed to attend, do not have the privilege of being fully integrated into the life of that church.
That is one of the main reasons why Clearer Vision Ministries, Inc. exists. The slogan "Making God's Word Accessible to People with Disabilities" is not just a slogan. It is a goal. We want to make it possible for people with disabilities to not just hear the Word of God, but to fully benefit from that Word by participating in all of the obligations and privileges that come with knowing it.
As you browse this site, it is my hope that you catch our vision; that you see the need to make God's Word accessible to all, regardless of whether they have a disability or not.
