DON'T YOU WISH YOU COULD SEE?
"Don't you wish you could see?" my daughter asked me as she sat on my lap. "Not really," I replied.
I think my answer surprised her. Actually I have been asked that question a lot during my almost fifty years of life. One time I specifically remember was when I was eighteen. A member of a Lions club asked me to consider giving a speech entitled, "If you could receive your sight would you do so?"
I told him that the content of my speech would be quite brief: Since I had never had vision, I didn't really miss it. I told him, "Having sight for me is like having a million dollars. I have never had either, and, while I might fantasize about both, I can also live without both."
I never got to make that speech; I think he was expecting another approach. Spiritual sight is another matter, however. Before I knew Christ I used to fantasize about what it would be like to be happy, genuinely happy. And then Christ found me. My spiritual eyes were opened to the truth, and I began to see, really see! I saw clearly for the first time what my world really looked like. It was a world full of self-centeredness, pride and greed. I began to see how ugly it was and was, with God's help, able to start cleaning up my polluted world.
There are millions of people with physically blind eyes and other disabilities who need the spiritual vision that God has given me. They need to see, as I now can, the real condition of their world. Your prayer and financial support of Clearer Vision Ministries, Inc. helps us reach out to some of these people, offering them what I, and many others with disabilities have found, salvation through Jesus Christ.
